Lack of quorum halts opening of plenary session

The lack of quorum halted the opening of the Georgian parliament’s plenary session. As of now, 73 lawmakers registered, but the plenary’s commencement requires the presence of 76 MPs.

Opposition lawmakers from the Girchi party, independent MPs Teona Akubardia, Tariel Nakaidze, Fridon Injia and Avtandil Enukidze are present. Others have declared a boycott.

A 5-minute break is announced, following which the MPs will undergo registration again.
