Labour Inspection Chief says workplace fatality figures dwindled by 31%

The number of workplace deaths plummeted by 31% following the adoption of the Labor Safety Law, said Beka Peradze, the Head of Labour Inspection at Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, on Thursday.

Presenting the 2021 report to the Georgian Parliament, Peradze said, the Labor Inspection Service had performed 1,074 safety checks at 446 facilities last year.

According to him, the report covers the main safety violations detected in 2021.
