Kutaisi International Airport to accommodate wide-body aircraft without restriction by year-end, says UAG Director

Construction of the new runway and associated infrastructure at Kutaisi David the Builder International Airport has entered its final stage, announced Levan Moseshvili, Director General of the United Airports of Georgia (UAG).

According to Moseshvili, upon completion of the project, Kutaisi International Airport will be equipped with modern navigation facilities, enabling the airport to handle larger, long-haul aircraft.

“By the end of the year, we will be in a position to accommodate the largest wide-body aircraft without restriction. Equipped with modern navigation systems, the runway will enable Kutaisi International Airport to accommodate larger, long-haul aircraft without any operational constraints.

This, in turn, will drive growth in tourist arrivals, attract freight traffic, and foster the development of air cargo operations from Kutaisi International Airport,” Levan Moseshvili stated.

The Director General of the United Airports of Georgia highlighted that the ongoing project at Kutaisi International Airport represents one of the most ambitious and unprecedented aviation infrastructure developments in the history of independent Georgia.

“We are continually committed to developing and strengthening our airport infrastructure to establish Georgia as a key regional aviation hub,” Levan Moseshvili noted.
