“September 27 is one of the most tragic days in modern Georgian history,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at a memorial for those who fought for Georgia’s unity.
Alongside Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Parliament Chairman Shalva Papuashvili, and other government officials, Kobakhidze laid a wreath at the memorial to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the fall of Sokhumi and to honour the fallen.
“Today, we remember our heroes who sacrificed everything for our country and the dream of a united Georgia. I am confident this dream will come true one day,” Kobakhidze said.
