The United States Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan presented her credentials to Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, the U.S. Embassy in Georgia reports.
The new Ambassador will now officially assume her duties as the Chief of Mission of the United States to Georgia.
Kelly Degnan said the U.S. and Georgia “have such a long and strong partnership.” She “looks forward to working with her team, and the Minister’s team, in making it an even stronger relationship.”
“We are looking forward to helping Georgia continue its efforts to integrate with the West, to try and combat some of the destabilizing activities of Russia in trying to upset the progress that Georgia has made through such hard work over the years, and of course to strengthen Georgia’s relationship with the United States,” Kelly Degnan stressed.
