The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance has announced a temporary suspension of operations at the customs checkpoint Kazbegi due to an emergency.
The decision comes after the measuring detector, situated in Devdoraki and recording changes in the case of a minor increase in water flow in the riverbed, issued a warning signal to the emergency management agency.
As a result of this precautionary measure, import and export activities, as well as customs control procedures for individuals crossing the state border through the checkpoint, have been halted.
The employees and passengers of the customs checkpoint Kazbegi have been safely transferred to protected areas to ensure their safety. Once the river levels return to normal, operations at the customs checkpoint Kazbegi will resume at full capacity.
