Kazakh PM: Kazakhstan firmly committed to expanding regional connectivity; recognizes Georgia's important role in this process
“Kazakhstan is firmly committed to expanding regional connectivity and systematically improving the relevant infrastructure and conditions. We recognize Georgia’s important role in this process,” said Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze..
He noted that trade between Kazakhstan and Georgia “is still in the spotlight.”
“We believe that there is great potential for further diversification of our trade partnerships.
Transit and transport are key areas of our cooperation. Both Kazakhstan and Georgia are vital links in transcontinental transport corridors, providing efficient routes between Europe and China/Southeast Asia.
It is gratifying that our countries are actively cooperating on the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
Over the last year, cargo transportation along this corridor has surged by 62%, totalling 4.5 million tons. There has been a nearly five-fold rise in demand and supply for this route since 2021,” Bektenov stated.
