Kakheti Regional Military Recruitment Center calls up new batch of conscripts
Individuals drafted and voluntarily registered for Georgia’s National Military Service for an eight-month term reported to the Regional Center for Military Conscription and Recruitment in Telavi.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the head of the Kakheti Regional Center, Lieutenant Colonel Gocha Sebiskveradze, addressed the recruits and thanked their parents for raising responsible young citizens who chose to join the ranks of the Georgian Defense Forces voluntarily.
The conscripts were escorted by family members from the Kakheti Regional Center to the 20th Territorial Defense Brigade of the National Guard of Georgia. Upon arrival at the military unit, they were issued uniforms and equipment before being assigned to barracks.
The recruits will undergo eight weeks of Basic Combat Training, which includes firearms instruction, medical training, engineering skills, drill exercises, tactical preparation, communications, and topography. Military instructors will also provide physical training and familiarize participants with military discipline and regulations.
Following completion of the training program, the conscripts will take the military oath and be assigned to combat support and combat service support units, where they will serve on a schedule of one duty day every three days.
The Ministry noted that individuals who voluntarily registered for National Military Service will receive a 30 percent salary supplement in addition to their regular remuneration.
