Kakha Kemoklidze – Statements made by de-facto authorities are unrealistic
Chorchana village of Khashuri Municipality was the territory controlled by the central Georgian authorities before the August 2008 Russia-Georgia war and is so at present. Representatives of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) and Ministry of Internal Affairs are patrolling across the segment – Kakha Kemoklidze, Chief of Staff of Georgia’s National Security Council (NSC), told reporters near the village of Chorchana.
Kemoklidze said that information as if Georgian policemen appeared at Chorchana village today is completely unrealistic, as Georgian police officers have always been patrolling here. “We have heard very strange statements from de facto authorities, which, in my opinion, are irrational,” Kemoklidze said. He claimed that the language of the ultimatum was unacceptable.
Representatives of de-facto regime gave ultimatums to the Georgian side to abolish the Georgian checkpoint near Tsneli until 6:00 AM today.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Lasha Darsalia said that the abolishment of the Georgian police checkpoint at Chorchana village of Khashuri Municipality was not even the subject of discussion.
