Strike of drivers of subway trains can be assessed as blackmail against own fellow citizens, – Kakha Kaladze made the regarding statement at the briefing held today.

Mayor stated that  he will not allow the population of Tbilisi to be affected by blackmailing and due to unidentified, completely unsubstantiated ultimatums.

“I declare with full responsibility that I will not allow the population of Tbilisi to be affected by blackmailing and unidentified, totally unsubstantiated ultimatums.

The fact that today metro stations do not operate and do not serve the passengers, can be assessed as blackmail against one fellow citizens,” – kakha Kaladze said.

The drivers of subway trains went on strike yesterday.  All subway stations are closed due to the strike today.

The drivers are holding a protest rally at Gldani station for the time being.

They demand a pay raise. They say they will not stop protest unless their demands are satisfied
