It is absolutely incredible and incomprehensible, who thought out to put insulting equal sign between fathers of killed sons and a New Year Tree when responding letter of City Hall gives no reason for such interpretation, – Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze made this statement at the briefing held today.

As Tbilisi Mayor noted, it is not City Hall’s prerogative to grant anyone the right to hold the rally. According to him, the City Hall can only issue a recommendation.

“First of all, I would like to state that for me as well as for our political team the human dignity, rights and freedom of expression are the main value.  Together with the Georgian society, personally I and our team are and always will be the defender of it. It is absolutely incredible and incomprehensible, who thought out to put insulting equal sign between fathers of killed sons and a New Year Tree when responding letter of City Hall gives no reason for such interpretation.

The disseminated information as if protesters were not allowed to set up tents due to New Year Tree or New Year events at the beginning of November is disinformation and falsehood”, – Kakha Kaladze said.
