Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze tagged the statement made by President Giorgi Margvelashvili on July 20 as ‘astonishing’ and said he believes that Margvelashvili has high imagination about himself.

According to Kaladze, the population will decide who will become President of Georgia. “People have pretty good understanding about the reality and elections always show the real picture. Respectively, all political parties and politicians will be dictated their place which they deserve through elections,” Kaladze said.

President Margvelashvili said at the meeting with civil society that if he gives a positive answer to the question, the Georgian Dream will nominate a stronger candidate, and if the answer will be negative, then the Georgian Dream will present a weak candidate.

“Why the Georgian Dream is not naming its candidate? They are waiting for me. If I say that I am not running for presidency, they will nominate a weak candidate who will not use veto or object anything. They want such a candidate. But if I say that I am not running for presidency, they will not be able to name such a weak candidate. On the other hand, I am helping the opposition, as they cannot agree on a candidate yet,” President claimed.
