“We are holding a friendly match, and I am glad that football unites,” Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor said in connection with the friendly football match being held in response to April 8 incident at Beliashvili Street.
Kaladze underlined that it was welcoming that incident participants and Football Federation reacted to the initiative.
A friendly football match among participants of April 8 incident at Beliashvili Street in Tbilisi – Georgian citizens and foreign students studying in Tbilisi – is being held at the initiative of Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor. The match at Beliashvili Street Stadium began at 18:00.
Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor, Levan Kobiashvili, President of Football President and Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament are taking part in the match.
A video was released in the social network on April 8 which shows a conflict between Georgian citizens and foreigners. Investigation into the incident is opened.
