Kaja Kallas: New visa regulations take effect in November enabling cancellation of visa-free for some groups

“The ministers were very clear on the rule of law and human rights situation that it continues to deteriorate in Georgia,” said Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, at a press conference following a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Luxembourg.

According to Kallas, “personal attacks against European ambassadors are unacceptable and have no place in diplomacy.”

“The European Commission will present its visa suspension mechanism report later this year. With the new regulations on visas entring into force in November. This will give us the oppostunity to cancel the visa-free regime for some groups,” Kallas said.
