An oath-taking ceremony was held at the Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC). Georgian Justice Minister Gocha Lortkipanidze took the oath together with other 5 newly-appointed judges.
Gocha Lortkipanidze is the first Georgian elected as Judge at the ICC. The elections were held on December 19, 2020. The 76 delegates voted pro.
Gocha Lortkipanidze was elected with the 9-year term. Before assuming the duties officially, he will continue to work as Georgian Justice Minister.
