Justice Minister meets ECHR President

Minister of Justice of Georgia Paata Salia met with the President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Mattias Guyomar.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the sides emphasized that Georgia maintains effective and constructive cooperation with the Strasbourg Court at every stage of legal proceedings.

“The Minister highlighted the sharp decrease in the number of applications filed against Georgia at the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the positive trends in the execution of the Court’s judgments.

Paata Salia also discussed the importance of decisions issued by the Strasbourg Court in interstate cases against Russia and thanked Mattias Guyomar for impartial and fair judicial proceedings,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
