Justice Minister: Digital governance and digitalization to be key topics at intergovernmental summit in Budapest
“One of the most significant issues in Georgian-Hungarian cooperation will be discussed at the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Summit in Budapest,” Georgian Justice Minister Paata Salia told journalists.
As Salia emphasised, the summit is being conducted within the framework of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Hungary.
“The summit will feature both a joint intergovernmental meeting and separate discussions with sectoral ministers. I will personally meet with the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Justice. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Ministries of Justice of Georgia and Hungary, and an action plan has already been outlined for 2024-2025. This plan details the activities that both justice ministries will undertake, including collaboration in digital governance and digitalisation, as well as the exchange of expertise.
This cooperation aims to align Georgian legislation and the legal system more closely with that of the European Union. Additionally, our agenda includes planning high-level visits and establishing exchange programs,” Salia explained.
