Georgian judoka Luka Maisuradze (90 kg) won a gold medal at the European Championships underway in Tbilisi by defeating Nemanja Majdov from Serbia in the final and securing the title of European Champion for the second time in his career.
This gold medal is Luka Maisuradze’s fourth at the European Championships. He became the champion in 2022 and won bronze medals in 2019 and 2020.
Luka Maisuradze won the fifth medal for the Georgian delegation at the 2026 European Championships.
On April 17, Lasha Shavdatuashvili crowned the European Championships currently underway in Tbilisi by claiming victory in the under-73 kg category, while Eter Liparteliani (57 kg) brought the European Championships to a magnificent conclusion, defeating Israel’s Timna Nelson Levy in the final with a breathtaking throw. Giorgi Sardalashvili (60 kg) and Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) won silver medals.
