Judo: Eter Liparteliani qualifies for semifinals of World Championships 

Georgian judoka Eter Liparteliani (57 kg) qualified for the semifinals of the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In the 1/4 finals of the tournament, she defeated Ana Viktorija Puljiz from Croatia.

To secure a ticket to the final, the 27-year-old Georgian judoka will face a competitor from either China or Germany.

Medals in the men’s 73kg and women’s 57kg weight categories will be contested today at the World Judo Championships.

On the first day of the competition, 23-year-old Giorgi Sardalashvili won a bronze medal for the Georgian national team.
