Jailed Saakashvili: Opposing Lelo is feeble; focus on boycotting and securing EP-supported genuine elections

“In my opinion, further opposition to Lelo makes no sense; we should limit ourselves to expressing regret,” former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili remarked in a social media post.

Jailed ex-president emphasised that the United National Movement (UNM) must prioritise boycotting the so-called special operation and striving for genuine elections, especially given the European Parliament’s support for this stance.

“Further opposition to Lelo is unnecessary. We should concentrate on actively boycotting the Russian-backed Georgian Dream’s ‘scam’ special operation and working tirelessly toward genuine elections, aligning with the European Parliament’s position,” Saakashvili reiterated.
