Jailed ex-president says money means nothing to him

“Great national depression and 12-year-long shame will end. This is why I risked my life, returned to Georgia, and will fight till the last breath,” said jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili at today’s trial via video link.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, the new government should abolish monopolies and attract investments to reduce prices for various goods and products.

As the ex-president stated, the government divides people but the society should unite, the authorities stir up hopelessness, but citizens should not give up.

“Investments will flow where patriots rule the country and not an oligarch. Money has never meant anything to me, I have no house in Georgia and no living space, except for one seized vineyard, yes, that was my philosophy, my way of thinking,” he said.
