Jailed ex-president: Freedom is not given for granted but fought

“Remember, Rubio, who is engrossed in Iran, Venezuela, Cuba and many other things, will not arrive here to do our affair; they gave us sufficient time,” wrote jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili in his Facebook post.

According to Saakashvili, if the Georgian people truly strive for freedom, they will win it through fight.

“Freedom is not given for granted but fought for. As the greatest Ukrainian public figure, Taras Shevchenko (the university after whose name I graduated from in Kyiv) said: Борітеся – поборете! Fight, and you will triumph!” he said.
