Italian Ambassador: Georgia and Italy share strong similarities in wine traditions
“It is a great honor to share Georgia’s culture and traditions. At exactly this time of year, a similar wine-related process is also underway in Italy,” Italian Ambassador to Georgia Massimiliano D’Antuono said in Kakheti, where members of the diplomatic corps in Georgia attended the grape harvest.
According to D’Antuono, Georgia and Italy are very similar when it comes to wine and winemaking traditions.
“Today is truly a very good day. The weather is excellent, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to participate in an event organized by the Foreign Minister for ambassadors, where we are learning about how the grape harvest season is progressing in Georgia.
This is particularly important to me because a similar process is taking place in Italy at exactly this time of year. Our countries are very similar in terms of wine-related traditions. Wine is an important part of our culture and heritage. Therefore, it is a great honor for me to be part of this important moment and to have the opportunity to learn about and share Georgia’s culture and traditions. Thank you for this,” D’Antuono said.
