Israeli Embassy: We are proud of and bow our heads to Shota Musaev and all who contributed to safe Return of 174 passengers
“We are proud of and bow our heads to Shota Musaev and all those whose courage made a decisive contribution to the safe return of 174 passengers,” the Embassy of Israel in Georgia said in a statement.
According to the embassy, among those whose heroism and courage helped save the passengers of a Flydubai flight was Shota Musaev, an Israeli doctor of Georgian origin.
“He was among the first to rush into the cockpit without hesitation and, together with other heroic passengers, neutralized the terrorist. He then provided essential medical assistance to the seriously injured pilot.
Shota Musaev managed to stop severe bleeding and stabilize the condition of the heroic pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar, before the aircraft landed,” the embassy said.
“The actions of Dr. Shota were part of a broader, extraordinary effort that, thanks to the courage of the captain, passengers and crew, prevented a disaster and saved lives,” the Embassy of Israel in Georgia said.
