ISN applauds Georgia’s work to support international financial sanctions

“We applaud Georgia’s diligent work to support international financial sanctions and export controls,” said the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN) operating within the United States Department of State.

The Bureau said on Twitter that Georgia’s Revenue Service of the Finance Ministry and US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan participated in a donation ceremony at Batumi Airport for X-ray scanning equipment to bolster detection capabilities.

“This X-ray scanning equipment was handed over to Georgia’s Customs Department as part of ISN’s Export Control and Border Security program, and will strengthen Georgia’s national security and help its customs + border security teams prevent illicit weapons and WMD trafficking,” the ISN tweeted.
