Irakli Kobakhidze – We are decided to win unequal fight against Putin with peaceful but unwavering resistance
Russia’s intensified militarization in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions pose a threat not only to Georgia but peace and stability in the whole region – Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Georgian Parliament said in a speech delivered at Vienna Diplomatic Academy.
Kobakhidze talked about the current difficult situation across the occupied regions with respect to humanitarian and human rights. He stressed on the limitation of free movement, prohibition of studying in Georgian language, abduction of Georgian locals and torture of Georgian citizens at Tskhinvali prison that remain unpunished.
Chairman of the Georgian Parliament underlined that the government supported resolution of the territorial conflict with Russia through peaceful means. “We are decided to win the unequal fight against Putin with peaceful but unwavering resistance. We believe that Russian occupation and dictatorship is temporary,” Kobakhidze said.
Kobakhidze answered questions of the audience after the speech. Members of the Georgian delegation, representatives of diplomatic corps, experts, political analysts and students attended the speech.
