Irakli Kobakhidze – The year of 2019 will be remarkable

The year of 2019 will be remarkable with respect to acknowledgment and implementation intensiveness of the supervisory competence of the parliament – Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker said in his speech delivered during the first plenary sitting of the spring session of the parliament.

Kobakhidze underlined that control of the executive authorities is the main Constitutional prerogative of the parliament.

Kobakhidze is presenting the annual report of the parliament’s activities for 2018 as well as the future plan for 2019. Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, members of Cabinet of Ministers and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze are attending his speech.

The spring session of the parliament of the 9th convocation has been opened earlier this afternoon. The state anthem was performed in the Parliament’s Tbilisi building. The 121 MPs are attending the plenary session. Starting today, the parliament will continue its legislative activities in the parliament building in Tbilisi.
