Irakli Kobakhidze: MP Azer Suleimanov was allegedly involved in Marneuli incident

The resolution on charges was issued against the member of the Georgian Parliament Azer Suleimanov for offence under the subparagraph “b” of the I Section of Article 126, of Criminal Code of Georgia, – Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze made the regarding statement.

According to Kobakhidze, he received a regarding letter from the acting Chief Prosecutor Mamuka Vasadze, according to which one of the MPs was allegedly involved in Marneuli incident.

As Speaker of the Parliament states it is necessary to investigate this grave incident.

“This very grave incident should be investigated. Each participant should be punished regardless of his/her party affiliation or position and this case should have a precedential value”, – Kobakhidze said.

Prosecutor’s Office launched investigation into the fact of inhuman and degrading treatment carried out by a group. Marneuli Mayor Temur Abazov has been arrested. The criminal prosecution has started against the member of the member of the United National Movement MP Azer Suleimanov related to this incident.
