Irakli Kobakhidze - Highlighting issue of delimitation and demarcation cannot be considered a problem
Highlighting the issue of delimitation and demarcation cannot be considered a problem – Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament told journalists in response to the question whether or not the statements made by President regarding Davit Gareja, a rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex located in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia, had been agreed with Prime Minister.
“Naturally, all relevant issues with friend states should be resolved through consultations,” Kobakhidze said.
According to Chairman of Parliament, the issue of Davit Gareja has always been on the agenda for 30 years, the matter was complicated and it was important that it was not followed by provocative moves. “I call on everybody to abstain from private initiatives and making improvisations,” Kobakhidze said.
Chairman of Parliament said he believed that the statements made by President Zurabishvili generated turning the situation to tenser and the current circumstance was counter-productive. “Much excitement is harmful,” Kobakhidze claimed.
