Irakli Kirtskhalia becomes Chairman of GD Parliamentary Faction

Mamuka Mdinaradze has been replaced by Irakli Kirtskhalia as the chairman of the Georgian Dream parliamentary faction. Kirtskhalia will also serve as the leader of the parliamentary majority.

The announcement was made during today’s session of the Bureau of the Parliament of Georgia.

Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of Parliament, commented on the changes: “We note the election of Irakli Kirtskhalia as the chairman of the Georgian Dream faction. We congratulate him. It is a great responsibility, and we wish him success. After the successful work of Mamuka Mdinaradze over the years, it is important to continue at the same pace. We also note the election of Levan Machavariani as the first deputy chairman of the faction, and Ioseb Jorbenadze as deputy. I congratulate them and wish them successful work.”

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze nominated Mamuka Mdinaradze for the position of Head of the State Security Service on August 23. Today, the Parliament approved Mdinaradze for this new role.
