Irakli Kandashvili has won the second round of elections for the chairmanship of the Georgian Bar Association.

Kandashvili received 1,473 votes, while the other candidate in the runoff, Irakli Chomakhashvili, received 1,366 votes. A total of 2,855 lawyers participated in the second round of voting.

“Thank you to all lawyers for taking part in this process. I am pleased to have received such significant trust and the opportunity to serve my beloved profession for the next four years. Our main priority will be unity—each lawyer as part of one large family. I see no winners or losers here; after the completion of this process, we are all serving the profession. Once again, thank you to all lawyers. I am ready to serve,” Kandashvili said.

The first round of elections for the chair of the Georgian Bar Association was held on December 14. During the December 14 meeting, members of the Executive Board, the Ethics Commission, and the Audit Commission were also elected.
