Investigation Service reveals corruption-related crimes
The Investigation Service of the Finance Ministry of Georgia, through operative-investigative measures, revealed facts of commercial bribery and corruption in three different criminal cases and detained three individuals.
In the first case, an employee of the Adjara Forest Agency took a bribe from a citizen in the amount of USD 1000 in return for use of a forest area.
In the second case, a veterinary doctor of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region took 650 GEL from a citizen in return for registration and identification of cattle, bypassing set procedures. He now faces 6 to 9 years in prison.
In the third case, the investigation determined that an operator of Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia LLC demanded and received 500 GEL from a citizen in exchange for the unauthorized disposal of waste at a landfill in the Kvemo Kartli region.
