Finance Ministry Investigation Service detains three for counterfeit coins production
Officers of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained three people on the fact of 1-GEL coins counterfeit.
The investigation established that the persons revealed in the crime produced the counterfeit coins with the use of lead and homemade plaster molds.
The forgers were paying the false coins to their Totalizer accounts in the self-service payment machines located throughout Georgia and then cashed them out.
The forgers cashed out a total of 8 thousand false coins. Officers of the Investigation Service confiscated homemade plaster molds and the raw material as a result of personal and apartment search of the detainees.
