International audit issues unconditional positive opinion on GPB First Channel’s financial statements
The international auditing company Moore ABC Ltd has issued an unconditional positive opinion on the financial statements of Georgian Public Broadcaster’s First Channel for the year 2025.
The Public Broadcaster is audited annually by an internationally recognised auditing firm selected by its Board of Trustees. The process encompasses audits of financial statements, public procurement and tax reporting. The auditing company returned a positive opinion across all three areas, with no violations or breaches of legislation identified in any category.
“The positive, unconditional audit report is especially important to us as a transparent and accountable public institution. It confirms that every examined component of our work is fully compliant with the law and all applicable standards. 2025 was a particularly significant year for the Public Broadcaster in many respects. It marked our first year in the new building and required us to manage a highly complex transition: relocating to a new address while ensuring uninterrupted broadcasting at all times. This process was especially demanding, as both the completion of the new building and the relocation itself required a wide range of competencies far beyond our core day-to-day operations,” said Georgian Public Broadcaster Director-General Tinatin Berdzenishvili.
In accordance with Georgian legislation, the audit opinion is submitted to Parliament, where the legislature considers it alongside the broadcaster’s annual activity report.
