Intermittent, locally heavy rainfall expected across Georgia from late June 19 to June 22

According to the National Environmental Agency (NEA), intermittent rainfall is expected across most of Georgia from late today, June 19, until June 22, with heavy downpours likely in some areas.

Forecasters predict potential thunderstorms, hail, and strengthening winds.

“Water levels remain high in Georgia’s rivers. Heavy downpours could push water levels to dangerous levels across the Enguri, Rioni, Aragvi, Iori, and Alazani river basins. It could also trigger flash floods on smaller rivers and initiate or reactivate landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous zones, carrying a high risk level,” the National Environmental Agency statement reads.
