Interior Minister visits injured law enforcement officers after October 4 protest
Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze visited law enforcement officers injured during the October 4 protest rally in Tbilisi.
The minister received updates from doctors about the officers’ conditions and thanked them for carrying out their duties with dignity.
“More than 30 police officers were injured during yesterday’s violent protest. Some have already been discharged with moderate injuries, while two remain hospitalized. Their condition, which was serious yesterday, is now relatively stable, and doctors expect further improvement. I want to thank every officer who took part in the operation. Proportional force was applied at a very high standard. The public should know that any violation of the law will be met with the strictest response. A peaceful overthrow did not occur, but a peaceful dispersal did,” Geladze told the media.
