Initiative group submits proposal to Parliament to raise mandatory VAT registration threshold from 100,000 GEL to 500,000 GEL

Jondi Baghaturia, Davit Osepashvili, Maia Siradze, Kakha Kakhishvili and Kakha Maisurade registered a new legislative initiative, “Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code.”

The new initiative urges to raise mandatory VAT registration threshold from 100,000 GEL to 500,000 GEL to support small and medium-sized business.

According to Baghaturia, the current limit 100 00 GEL is set 20 years ago. He stressed that the initiative aims to stimulate small and medium-sized businesses, reduce the tax burden, and boost economic activity, thereby fostering the emergence of a middle class.
