Infrastructure Minister meets ADB representatives

Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze held a meeting with Lesley Bearman Lahm, Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Mission in Georgia, along with the bank’s sector directors, leading transport specialists, and project officers.

The meeting at the Ministry of Infrastructure was also attended by Deputy Minister Mzia Giorgobiani, Chairman of the Roads Department Levan Darakhvelidze, and his deputies.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, discussions focused on both ongoing and planned road infrastructure projects to be implemented with ADB support. These include the construction of two sections of the Tbilisi bypass, the addition of two lanes to the Kobuleti bypass, and the access road to the Anaklia port.

The parties also discussed opportunities for strengthening the institutional capacity of the Roads Department, improving project quality control mechanisms, and introducing innovative road maintenance methods.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the long-standing and successful cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen the partnership to ensure the effective implementation of joint infrastructure projects, the ministry said.
