Incident at CEC with participation of representatives of National Movement and European Georgia

An incident took place at Central Election Commission (CEC) with participation of representatives of National Movement and European Georgia parties when CEC Chairwoman Tamar Zhvania was announcing the preliminary results of the 2020 parliamentary elections.

Davit Kirtadze, a member of National Movement claimed that the results did not reflect the actual reality.

“These are false results. Are not you ashamed, Tamar, of what you are announcing? The results do not reflect the choice of voters. They are written in the election headquarters of Georgian Dream. They were given to you to announce. They were hiding the protocols and counted only those showing the results of Georgian Dream. These results do not match the percentage of votes given by people and voters. Everything is a lie,” Kirtadze stated.

Davit Gurgenidze, a member of European Georgia Party also protested over CEC preliminary results of the elections.
