In-person learning in Georgia to resume on October 4

Schools, higher and vocational educational institutions, and kindergartens will resume in-person learning on October 4. Until then, all schools, except for kindergartens, will kick off distance learning between September 15 and October 4, Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council Giorgi Gibradze announced on Tuesday.

Effective October 4, in-person learning will only resume in a city or village where the infection rate will make less than 4%, while the others will continue online learning, Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli stated. Furthermore, parents will be able to choose whether or not they want to continue their distance learning after October 4 if in-person learning was allowed.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 4,778 coronavirus cases, 4,753 recoveries, and 79 deaths, increasing the country’s total case tally to 549,811, including 7,408 people dead.
