In order to prevent transmission and spread of a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) on the territory of Georgia, The import of any type of live animal from the People’s Republic of China to Georgia has been banned.
The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reports in this regard.
According to the Ministry, the ban will be in effect until China is declarer the free zone of coronavirus by World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
As a reminder, decorative fish and turtles were imported from the People’s Republic of China to Georgia.
