Imedi TV broadcast disrupted for 45 minutes, possible sabotage under investigation
Imedi TV reported a sudden disruption in its broadcasting this evening, with the signal cut off for approximately 45 minutes due to unclear reasons.
In an official statement, the television company said it “does not rule out the possibility of a criminal act” targeting the channel.
“Accordingly, we have already contacted law enforcement agencies. We are determining the reasons for the malfunction,” the statement reads.
Following Imedi’s appeal, the State Security Service (SSSG) announced that it has launched an investigation under the article of sabotage.
“The channel’s broadcast was cut off at 5:48 p.m., and Imedi was unable to go on air for around 45 minutes. Along with Imedi TV, broadcasting was also suspended for two other companies within the same holding — Maestro and GDS,” the SSSG said in its statement, adding that “relevant investigative actions are underway.”
