Ilia Topuria to participate in historic UFC White House event against Justin Gaethje #1TVSPORT
Georgian MMA star Ilia Topuria will be the main participant of the largest event in UFC history. On June 15, Topuria will face American fighter Justin Gaethje for the lightweight division title during a historic event at the White House in Washington, D.C..
The event, titled UFC Freedom 250, will commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. The fight card will feature six bouts, with the championship clash between Topuria and Gaethje serving as the main event.
The 29-year-old Topuria is a two-weight UFC champion. In February 2024, he defeated Alexander Volkanovski to win the featherweight (66 kg) title. He later captured the lightweight (70 kg) championship in June 2025 by defeating Charles Oliveira.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Gaethje currently holds the interim belt in the division.
Topuria will attempt to defend his lightweight championship for the first time in Washington, D.C., on the White House grounds. The Georgian fighter remains undefeated in mixed martial arts with a record of 17 victories.
