Judoka Ilia Sulamanidze advanced to quarter-finals

Judoka Ilia Sulamanidze (100 kg) started the sixth competition day of the judo tournament at the Paris Olympics with a victory. He secured victory over Italian judoka Gennaro Pirelli in the round of 16.

This win advances Sulamanidze to the quarter-finals, where he will face the Olympic champion, Japan’s Aaron Wolf.

Currently, the Georgian judo team has achieved notable success, with Lasha Bekauri (90 kg) winning the gold medal and Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) taking silver.
