Nowadays there are some changes in the human spirit, nature and mind, great care is needed that the desires of the flesh do not hijack humans, – Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II said after serving a special liturgy at Sameba Cathedral.
„Today we are thinking about what to do for our transfiguration. Nothing stays in the same state, everything moves, changes. The ancient Romans said that “Times are changed, we also are changed with them”, – Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia stated.
On 19th August, the Orthodox Church marks the transfiguration of Jesus. The Transfiguration is among the 12 greatest religious holidays and is related to one of the famous episodes of the life of Lord Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ showed his heavenly nature to his three apostles: Peter, Jacob and Johan.
As a rule, the fruit is brought to church to be blessed on this day.
