A Georgian delegation led by Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili will attend a NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12, 2023.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Ilia Darchiashvili will attend a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of foreign ministers, which will also include the foreign ministers of Sweden (as an invited country), Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova, as well as a high-ranking European Union representative.
The Ministry added that the meeting will cover regional and global security challenges.
“A final declaration will be adopted during the summit, reflecting Georgia’s progress and prospects for NATO membership. The meeting will also reaffirm NATO’s steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Georgia’s participation at the Vilnius Summit demonstrates the Alliance’s firm support for the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration and the high relevance of Georgia’s topic on the NATO agenda,” said the Foreign Ministry.
