Ilia Darchiashvili appointed Georgia’s Ambassador to UK and IMO

Ilia Darchiashvili has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as Permanent Representative of Georgia to the International Maritime Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reported.

Darchiashvili previously served as Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2022 to 2024 and as Ambassador to the Republic of Poland from 2017 to 2021.

He has also held key positions in the Georgian government, including Head of the Administration of the Government, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and Executive Director of the LEPL Georgian Municipal Development Fund.

Darchiashvili has been granted the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
