Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan and Georgia serve as bridge between Europe and Asia
“In our meeting with Irakli Kobakhidze, we discussed the Middle Corridor project. Azerbaijan and Georgia will be the connection, the bridge that will be established between Europe and Asia,” stated Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev after meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to Aliyev, the success of the Georgian Dream ensures that there will be stability in the South Caucasus.
“In our face-to-face meeting, we discussed connectivity and the Middle Corridor project. Our countries closely cooperate and are partners. Our engagement is regular, and relevant agencies work in coordination in this direction. I am confident that this project will be successful.
Naturally, in this project, we need to maintain close ties with other countries in the neighbourhood; this includes a broad geography. Naturally, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be the connection, the bridge that will be established between Europe and Asia.
We are successfully implementing this, and I know that transport infrastructure is expanding in Georgia as well as in Azerbaijan. This especially applies to digitalization, the digitalization of transport infrastructure. Therefore, these efforts are proceeding in parallel in both countries and for the well-being of the nations we represent.
We are indispensable partners and can offer very valuable services to others as well. We have managed to achieve many things. I won’t go into details, but we will discuss this in an expanded format. Your party’s success ensures the fact that there will be stability in the South Caucasus. As your brothers and friends, we are pleased with your success. I wish you success in the future as well,” stated Ilham Aliyev.
