Holy Synod publishes document capturing key notes from April 3 meeting

The Georgian Patriarchate published a document capturing key notes and decisions from the April 3 Holy Synod meeting, and remarked that the next sitting will reveal patriarchal candidates for submission to the extended meeting.

According to the document, the meeting decided to establish three commissions: mandate, vote counting and editorial and named members and chairpersons of the commissions.

The next meeting should review the list of patriarchal candidates and shortlist them by selecting three candidates for their submission to the extended meeting of the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC).

The GOC extended meeting will be held at the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral.

Before the next session of the Holy Synod, high-ranking clergymen from their dioceses should present a complete list of delegates to the extended meeting for approval at the session of the Holy Synod.

The Patriarchate clarified that the date of the next meeting of the Holy Synod, initially scheduled for April 24, would be finalized shortly.
