The Holy Fire has been brought to Tbilisi. A special flight implemented by Georgian Airways landed at the Tbilisi International Airport with a small delegation of the Georgian Patriarchate on board.

The Holy Fire will first be delivered to the Sioni Cathedral in time for the Easter midnight mass. It will then be distributed to all acting churches, and the parishioners will be able to take it home.

For the first time this year, Easter Mass will be delivered at the Sioni Cathedral from midnight by Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku and locum tenens of the Patriarchal throne.

Easter liturgies will be held at all acting churches.

Believers from around the world once again witnessed the miracle of Holy Fire’s descending from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Saturday.

The Holy Fire descended at 15:13 Tbilisi time. Traditionally, the Patriarch of Jerusalem brought out the Holy Fire from the shrine encasing the Tomb of Christ.

The holy fire symbolizes resurrection of Jesus.
